One Health Community Clinic Continued by Michael Kato

Knights Landing is a community of primarily migrant workers who have been struggling to provide health care to both their human and animal members.  The Knights Landing One Healthy Clinic with the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine is the first medical clinic dedicated to providing both human medical and veterinary general wellness services.

In the March clinic, we saw 35 dogs and 32 cats.  Through the BLUM association, we were able to purchase another “cat tent.”  Cats require a protected area away from dogs in order to adequately examine their health.  Now that we were able to purchase another cat tent, we have been able to enroll and examine more cats to better meet the community’s needs.  This month we did not have to turn away any cats that came to see us due to this expanded ability and space.
